The Lovely Bones
A good movie overall, yet…
Structure/Plot
The story sagged for most of Act II starting at the point the girl realized she was in pre-heaven. The main problem is that she had no objective…after a few minutes, the wonderful scenery of pre-heaven was tiresome since it felt pointless. Now I’m not saying the movie should have done like Ghost (where Patrick Swayze got directly involved in earthly affairs to protect his wife), but it could have done similar in a subtle manner. Or anything the girl needed to achieve in order to advance to heaven.
Also, the husband going too far in his quest for justice and alienating his wife has been done many times and especially lately.
