Surrogates

Premise

Here’s the simple reason why some movies that have many appealing elements in place still fall flat- the audience does not accept the very basis of the story. Here, I did not accept that hundreds of millions of people would choose to live through surrogates. Yes, today people do that to a degree through various things on the Internet, but having a duplicate do that in real-life is way beyond that and not a projection of today’s actions. I also didn’t accept that the government would legalize it. So metaphor or social commentary does not matter if I don’t buy the idea offered.

This could have been something had the technology been underground or used just by the government.
