Push

How this was pushed through the studio system is one of the great mysteries of Hollywood.

Premise

Compare this to the X-Men: both have people born with special powers, but the X-Men stories reflect real-world issues like discrimination and the bad guys there threaten (parts of) the world as we know it. In Push, there is no comment on humanity and the threat is only against fellow pushers. In other words, the whole story is self-contained, which I why I didn’t care about the characters (aside from them being two-dimensional) nor their situation, which is why I fell asleep and stopped watching this.
