Mr. Popper’s Penguins
It was okay for a family flick, but I felt it should have had more appeal to the adults.
Character , Structure/Plot
I like the Jim Carrey of old and feel the movie needed either more of his silliness or less. The film felt muddled…many times I wanted to see more of the penguins, to get more into their personalities and relationships with the others and Jim’s family, and in the second half when Carrey was more outgoing and funny I wanted to see more of that. Ultimately, I think success would have been found with a greater focus on the penguins and a comedian of lesser stature.
Little thing
It’s one thing to suggest the penguins pooping, but to show the graphic details is a downer.
