Law Abiding Citizen

Premise

I like revenge/justice movies, but they don’t work when the protagonist is a bad guy. Here, Gerard Butler crossed the line when he targeted people only loosely involved in the case of his murdered wife and daughter. The only way I could see that working is if the story had explored the fragile state of such a man’s mind and the process in which he crosses the line.
