History of Violence

I thought this was an “okay” movie (not great, not awful) that misfired in the second half, and I was surprised by all the accolades.

In the second half, and mainly Act 3, the story veered too much to the gangster element when it should’ve stuck to the family and its consequences. That was the interesting thing- Viggo Mortensen’s wife’s reaction, the son changing, etc.- but there wasn’t enough of it.

Re-imagined scene with son.
