Get Him To The Greek

There were some cute moments here and there, but it’s a few days after seeing it and I’ve already forgotten just about everything about it.

Objective/Stakes

I needed more than Jonah Hill’s cute charm to connect to and empathize with. And there were no stakes to his mission. He would have lost his job had he failed, but so what? I assumed he would have found something else (as it turned out he did at the end). A more personal investment in him would have improved every other element in the movie.

Premise

Call me a nitpicker, but I hate that a comedy that took place in the real world (as opposed to the likes of MacGruber and Austin Powers) was based on something so implausible- that Aldous Snow did not need at least a week of rehearsals before such a major concert. Of course the three-day time-crunch was necessary, my point is that another scenario to get him to the Greek in three days could have been concocted.
