Premise / What if?

The basic story on paper was actually good, if not entirely original- a computer taking control to protect humans from themselves. The super-futuristic computer in question was a What if, one make-believe element in an otherwise real world. The problem is that the movie then added another- What if an explosives material exisited that was undetectable and powerful in tiny quantities? And that was a major no-no…a story cannot have two What ifs. (A Fantasy film is different.)

To make matters worse, the flick added an incredible coincidence- the guy who was killed when he realized what the super-computer was up to had a twin brother, the only way anyone could have gotten close to the computer. How convenient!

Each one of these elements could have been the focus of a story. All together in one created a mess.
