Confessions of A Shopoholic

Confessions of A Bored Viewer: I stopped watching this after 23 minutes.

Character

I disliked the main character for she was shallow, one-dimensional, and I didn’t care that she was in debt. That the actress was cute was not a reason to make the character endearing or make me feel empathetic towards her. And not caring for, or understanding, a character is the worst thing in a story.

Objective/Stakes

The character’s objective was to get a new job in order to pay her large credit card debt. So? What were the stakes? If she didn’t end up paying, what would have happened- personal bankruptcy? A friend or relative lending her money? *Yawn.*

Then, through some inexplicable silliness, she got a job at a business magazine with no experience in the field and…this is where I stop wasting my time on a movie that already accomplished that frustrating act.
