Bringing Out The Dead

The movie doesn’t go anywhere. It’s the same thing over and over- at night, Nicholas Cage on the edge, craziness in New York, visions of the girl he didn’t save. OK, I get it- and early on- so what about it?! What happens to Cage? Will his nightmarish visions ever stop? Will he rise above the demons of the night? Will he ever get his life in order? The movie drags on for two and a half hours without resolving these questions or even giving hope to a resolution.

A movie has to travel somewhere. The main character has to experience more than just one series of events. In short, this movie felt like a segment on a news program- a glimpse into someone’s life, instead of a detailed picture.
