Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey

I give them two points for trying something different. They did the right thing by not having Bill and Ted again travel back in time and meet other historical figures. That’s because time-travel was not the core of the first story, but rather fish-out-of-water, these cute bozos interacting with people out of their league.

Having them meet fantasy/mythical figures ruined the foundation of the story. Bill and Ted are so out there that they’re fantasy characters themselves. With similar people and things around them, the movie had no “straight man” to bounce off of.

Then the flick became too complex. I barely- and painfully- remember something about Bill and Ted robots and Bill and Ted munchkin creatures. Three Bill and Teds- two too much.
