The visuals were amazing, the world of the Na’vi was amazing, the story was not amazing. Am I the only one who thinks this?
Premise
The story was unoriginal and felt five years too late. With Bush out of the White House, it felt awkward and certainly unentertaining watching a movie that was even more damning of an imperialistic force than the United States in Iraq.
The packed theater I saw it in was pretty quiet until a few applause at the end.
P.S. It’s a few weeks later and I am surprised it’s done so well financially and critically. My guess is that the unsophisticated people were dazzled by the FX and others loved to see Americans portrayed as evil and get their comeuppance.
