A Perfect Getaway
More like, Get Me Away from this…
Premise / Structure-Plot
This had the same problem as The Uninvited- there wasn’t enough leading up to the twist. This wasn’t really a whodunnit because there were only two suspicious couples and the story focused on one of them, and the main character-couple never went from possibly-getting-into-danger to actually being in danger.
The twist itself was ridiculous because it came out of left field. The movie spent so much time in that flashback because so much had to be explained and re-interpreted to make an iota of sense.
And once we learned the truth about them, why did Steve Zahn try to kill Timothy Olyphant in a pre-meditated manner? His kill in the flashback seemed to be one of opportunity, not that he was a psycho who had already killed many times before (an animal doesn’t count). Zahn and Milla Jovovich couldv’e left the other couple and not worried that they would have told the police becuse they didn’t know anything real about them.
